1. Scathing “Open letter to Trump supporters” Feb 28, 2016 * "Mr. Trump’s relentless focus is on dividing Americans, and on tearing down rather than building back up this glorious nation” * "Which of the following quotes give you great comfort that (Trump is) in love with the First Amendment, that he is committed to defending the Constitution, that he believes in executive restraint, that he understands servant leadership?” He outlines 9 examples (From Putin to "closing down parts of the internet") 2. "Dumpster Fires More Popular than Trump" 3. " The Nebraska Republican was among Trump’s most prominent GOP critics during the campaign, blasting the billionaire and reality TV star as a “megalomaniac strongman” who lacked conservative principles, played race-baiting games and offered admiration for dictators." 4. Post election comment on Trump (11/8/2016) "“Starting today, I will do everything in my power to hold the President to his promises: to fight for an ethics reform package that upends cronyism and enacts term limits; to lead on repealing and replacing Obamacare; and to nominate judges who reject law-making by unelected courts,” Mr. Sasse said in a statement.

1. Rex Tillerson: "Two other Republicans, Senators James Lankford of Oklahoma and Ben Sasse of Nebraska, reacted to the news as if they had been presented with their sixth choice on a lunch menu of 10 items." “Senator Sasse has been outspoken against Russia’s recent aggressions,” said his spokesman, James Wegmann. “He also looks forward to diving into every nominee’s record.” “Mr. Tillerson is a man of tremendous accomplishment, but U.S. policy toward Russia’s Soviet-style aggression demands rigorous oversight.” 2. Pro-Sessions- "I am pleased to have secured a commitment from Attorney General nominee, Jeff Sessions, to address this so we can ensure killers like Eswin Mejia face justice." 3. Pro-Devos "The nomination of Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education is great news for those of us who care about educational freedom"

The President is right to focus attention on the obvious fact that borders matter. At the same time, while not technically a Muslim ban, this order is too broad. There are two ways to lose our generational battle against jihadism by losing touch with reality. The first is to keep pretending that jihadi terrorism has no connection to Islam or to certain countries. Thats been a disaster. And here's the second way to fail: If we send a signal to the Middle East that the U.S. sees all Muslims as jihadis, the terrorist recruiters win by telling kids that America is banning Muslims and that this is America versus one religion. Both approaches are wrong, and both will make us less safe. Our generational fight against jihadism requires wisdom
