Senate Grid

We are using the traditional organizing 1 through 5 scale. It takes a little getting used to, but it’s a really good thing to know since most people-powered campaigns use it. And it’s easy: it goes from 1s, which designate strong supporters, through 5s, who are dumpster fires. You can also see this grid emoji-style or dumpsterfire-emoji-style.

Currently, these scores are based on preliminary research. We are going to be developing more transparent criteria for both statements and votes, as well as a robust editorial policy. For now, If you’d like to make a case for a better or worse score for a represenative on any issue, feel free to do so either directly or (preferably) via social media. If you have policy or related expertise and are interested in helping develop the criteria, drop us a line. We’ll be looking for more help on this very soon.
